Aluminum clad combines wooden frames with a protective aluminum shell on the outside leaving wood on the inside. They are commonly used for, but not limited to, mimicking traditional window frames for older home restorations. Aluminum clad windows are a great low maintenance option as they will not dent easily and the paint is baked onto the aluminum to make last.
